Let’s Ravana before the V-day event ends!
The best day for this, I think, is probably the 13th (2021-03-13), which is a Saturday. If anyone has an issue with this day, do respond.
The exact hour is a bit more difficult, so we should talk that out on Discord or something. IDK.
What’s the deal with this Ravana guy?
- HP: 35m (35,000,000)
- Level: 120
- AVOID: 15
- WDEF: 1150
- MDEF: 1400
- WATK: 800
- MATK: 800
- Time to kill: 60 min
The library suggests that he has 10k (10,000) “HP Regen”, although I’m not sure of the timescale there, so I don’t really know how much that is.
So Ravana is pretty high-level (120), but he has pretty garbo AVOID (15), so hitting him shouldn’t be too much of an issue. For reference, if you are level 100, you need at least 97.2 WACC to hit Ravana 100% of the time. That WACC threshold will increase as your level goes below 100, and decrease as your level goes above 100.
However, even though hitting him is not an issue, his massive HP, high level, and high WDEF (and high MDEF) make killing him fast enough (in less than 60 min) a real challenge. Particularly, we will need a supply of apples, as well as lesser WATK buffs like Heartstoppers and unripe apples. Magic attackers will want the same, but for MATK — note that both types of apple (ripe and unripe) do buff MATK as well, although Heartstoppers do not. Also note that the lower your level is below Ravana’s (120), the less damage you will do, just due to the sheer level difference factoring into the damage-reduction-due-to-(W/M)DEF calculation. I recommend using the damage calculator to get an idea for how much damage you can deal to this giant fool.
And then, of course, there is the issue of survival. Because we only get 60 minutes to fight him anyways, we will be basketing through the entire fight, in order to provide HB, among other things. But we need to know exactly how much damage this guy does…
How much damage does Ravana do?
See: https://forum.maplelegends.com/index.php?threads/nises-formula-compilation.36234/
Note that I use capreolina as a model here, so she has a quite high StandardPDD
of 298. Beginners, for example, will only have a StandardPDD
of 19, and thus will take less damage from touch attacks. In particular, if nothing else is changed, a beginner would take roughly 130 less damage (both minimum and maximum) from touch attacks.
Touch
Our formula:
WATK^2 * rand(0.008, 0.0085) - WDEF * A - (WDEF - StandardPDD) * B
Filling it out (using level 107 capreolina with basket as a model):
WATK = 800
WDEF = 361
A = C + 0.28
StandardPDD = 298
B = C * 28 / 45 + CharacterLevel * 7 / 13000 + 0.196
C = STR / 2000 + DEX / 2800 + INT / 7200 + LUK / 3200
CharacterLevel = 107
STR = 564
DEX = 122
INT = 35
LUK = 36
So C
is then:
STR / 2000 + DEX / 2800 + INT / 7200 + LUK / 3200
= 564 / 2000 + 122 / 2800 + 35 / 7200 + 36 / 3200
= 0.34168253968253964
And thus B
is:
C * 28 / 45 + CharacterLevel * 7 / 13000 + 0.196
= 0.34168253968253964 * 28 / 45 + 107 * 7 / 13000 + 0.196
= 0.4662178537511871
So we have:
WATK^2 * rand(0.008, 0.0085) - WDEF * A - (WDEF - StandardPDD) * B
= 800^2 * rand(0.008, 0.0085) - 361 * ( C + 0.28) - ( 361 - 298) * 0.4662178537511871
= 640000 * rand(0.008, 0.0085) - 361 * (0.34168253968253964 + 0.28) - ( 361 - 298) * 0.4662178537511871
= 640000 * rand(0.008, 0.0085) - 224.4273968253968 - 63 * 0.4662178537511871
= 640000 * rand(0.008, 0.0085) - 253.7991216117216
So the minimum damage is:
640000 * 0.008 - 253.7991216117216
= 4866.2
And the maximum:
640000 * 0.0085 - 253.7991216117216
= 5186.2
Magic
Our formula:
MATK^2 * rand(0.0075, 0.008) - (MDEF / 4 + STR / 28 + DEX / 24 + LUK / 20) * K
Filling it out (using level 107 capreolina with basket as a model):
MATK = 800
MDEF = 333
STR = 564
DEX = 122
LUK = 36
K = 1
So we have:
MATK^2 * rand(0.0075, 0.008) - (MDEF / 4 + STR / 28 + DEX / 24 + LUK / 20) * K
= 800^2 * rand(0.0075, 0.008) - ( 333 / 4 + 564 / 28 + 122 / 24 + 36 / 20) * 1
= 640000 * rand(0.0075, 0.008) - 110.27619047619046
So the minimum damage is:
640000 * 0.0075 - 110.27619047619046
= 4689.72380952381
And the maximum:
640000 * 0.008 - 110.27619047619046
= 5009.72380952381
So basically…
I recommend, based on the above calculations, at least 5.1k MAXHP (with HB) for beginners, and at least 5.2k MAXHP (with HB) for everyone else.
How do we prepare?
So, we are planning this in advance because it’s going to take just about everything that we can muster. Here are some of the things to be preparing in advance, with costly items denoted by ($):
- Have two baskets ready. Baskets are one-of-a-kind (OoaK) and untradeable, so you can only actually have one per se, but you should have the quest ready to turn in, and also have one in your inventory. The reason for having two ready is in case we botch the first run, lol. Pretty likely tbh.
- ($) Get your HP (and MP) potions ready. Unless you’re real tanky, you will want potions that heal you for at least as much as you lose per Ravana attack. The usual suspect here is Power Elixirs (PEs), although you might be able to use lower percentage potions like Ginger Ales or Mushroom Miso Ramen if you are fairly tanky. Reindeer Milks could maybe work also, but it’s likely that Ravana will be dealing more than 5000 damage to you on at least some of his attacks. Assuming that our run takes the maximum alotted time (60 minutes), and that you use an HP potion every 2 seconds or so, that’s roughly 1.8k HP potions per character.
- Noam said he has some 5k Power Elixirs, I think.
- Make sure that you have your pet’s auto HP set correctly, if you use it. Again, unless you’re real tanky, you will want this on the highest setting, so that your pet administers a potion every time that your HP falls below 100%.
- ($) Get those (W/M)ATK consumables ready! Onyx Apples, Heartstoppers, Unripe Onyx Apples, Ssiws Cheeses, etc.
- Have at least two Safety Charms ready, unless you’re a beginner.
- Make sure that you have all of your equipment ready that you might use for this fight. In particular, make sure that the gear that you plan to use gives you enough MAXHP that you will be able to tank all of Ravana’s attacks when HB is active on you.
- Improve your character in the time leading up to the run. Get some more EXP, maybe get a monster book ring upgrade. Whatever.
- Make sure you know where Ravana is. Teleport Rocks exist, but you should probably know how to get to Ravana anyways. You can get to the Golden Temple via Spinel, and from there you run through the maps that are guarded by Guard to get to Ravana’s sanctuary.
- We need at least some people to have the prequests done. Not everyone has to do the prequests, but ideally, at least two of us should have done them.
- Mentally prepare yourself!!
